Just when you think things are coming around they go right back in the shitter.

Lexie might lose her spot at daycare.  I'm beyond sad.

1.  First, what is your favorite holiday?

Probably a tie between Thanksgiving and Christmas, but I would probably lean more towards Christmas.

2.  Do you prefer a real or fake christmas tree?

I personally have never had a real one in my house.  My parents have had real trees before.  All my 2 trees are currently fake.

3.  How do you like to decorate your tree, colors, lights, topper, tinsel, etc?

My dream decorations would be frosted blue and white lights, snow garland, blue and silver ornaments plus sentimental ones, a star on top and lots of snow flake and icicle type ornaments.  And a blanket of snow beneth the tree.

Right now my tree has silver garland, multi-lights, colored bulbs, silver snow flakes, some icicles ornaments, lexie's first christmas ornaments and a snow type blanket underneath.  We do have a star that lights up but I didn't want to find the extention cord to plug it in so the tree is topless.  LOL.

4.  What is your favorite holiday beverage?

Hot cocoa or Spiced apple cinder. 

5.  What is your favorite holiday dessert?

I'm with Tammy on cheesecake.  It's my fav period.  But I also love christmas cookies and I hate pumkin pie, just so you all know that.

6.  And your favorite holiday food that isn't a dessert?

Stuffing, sweat potatoes, prime rib with mushrooms.  That's all I can think of now.

7.  Your favorite holiday gift ever?

I asked this question and I can't think of an answer.  But I'll go the easy route and say just being with family and friends for the holidays is probably the best gift.

8.  Favorite holiday memory?

I have some really bads ones, but we won't go into those.  But I would have to say going to my grandparents to Christmas, going to church, eating lots of food and waking up way to early so we could open gifts from Santa.

9.  How do you like to spend your holiday?

Family and friends, singing, eating and sharing gifts and warm wishes.

10.  Also, what are you getting me for christmas?  Just kidding.  What do you REALLY want this christmas?

Oh my what should I get myself.  I guess it all depends on how much money I have.

But what I really really want to Christmas is a digital camera.  I have missed too many photo moments by not having one.  I want to be able to take my own pictures of my daughter.

Detroit Dating

After I emailed her following my last entry about her, I have heard not one single thing from her.  No emails or phone calls.  But I am still the second friend listed in her top friend on myspace.

I basically told her in the email that I wasn't ready to deal with her, though I ended up doing so any way by emailing her.  I told her I needed time and that a relationship where we actually see each other physically is out of the question.  I told her we could email, but that's all I could handle at this point. 

Now what was kind of weird about her email was that only a couple sentences were about this whole thing.  Like you must be mad and blah blah blah.  But the other 8 sentences were all about her.  Saying how she met this guy and didn't want to get involved because he is in the military and because of what happened with the last guy. 

I was basically thinking she was nuts.  First off for making it all about her and not respecting my feelings.  And then not giving a guy a try for really stupid reasons.  I mean this last guy she mentioned she didn't even have a real relationship with but her heart still got broken.  This guy never wanted to be her boyfriend.  I knew it, he knew and she was oblivious.  She actually lost out on a good relationship because she thought this guy wanted to date her.  He lived in Texas at the time and then moved to Arkansas.  I don't see him going out of his way to move to Nebraska.  So she is the only reason her heart got broken the last time.  She imagined she had something with him that wasn't real.

So now she is afraid of getting her heart broken again.  And really how are you going to find love if you don't give it a try.  Hanging out with immature people five years younger than her isn't going to help her find love.  And by people I mean the girl she keeps company with.  I won't even go into that.

I went on long enough about this.  I hope everyone is having a good day.

So, I've started wish lists on Target and Walmart websites.  I thought it would be easy for family and friends to see exactly what we wanted rather than just giving them some sort of written list.

I have changed the lists ever so often depending on if I know someone had gotten something on the list or I find something better.  So far Lexie has gotten her Dora Kitchen, which will be from my parents or maybe Santa, but still my parents.  LOL. 

Then my mom bought her a Dora potty training seat.  Which isn't for Christmas but it was on my list.  She has amazingly enough used it once.  She went in it before we got her into the tub for a bath over the holiday.  I was excited that she did it.  I haven't tried it too much since we got home, but I will probably try to work with her more on the weekend.  She already knows when she has to do #2 or has already done that.  So I'm assuming that means she is ready for potty training.  But I'm not sure.  It's new to me.

Any way, back to the list.  My most difficult task is picking out a digital camera.  We don't have one or any kind of camera really and it's just sad that the only pictures we have of our daughter were taken by her grandparents or via a portrait studio.  I have one camera on my list suggested by a friend, but I can't find it in store, only online and it's sold out online.  My luck.  So I'm trying to get suggestions or other digital cameras from people.  So if any of you know of a good brand or specific camera, I would appreciate suggestions.  Also I want to keep the cost of it down, so the max I would want to spend is $200.  And if it's lower than that, I will be even more excited.  Now I do know that I want it to have a good battery, not one that uses AA batteries because those never seem to last very long.
